Dalena Skinner
(She/her)
BA, BSW, MSW, RSW
Hello, and welcome. I’m Dalena (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 13 years of experience supporting children, youth, adults, and families through a variety of life challenges and transitions.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), and Master of Social Work (MSW) graduate degree. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals and families experiencing a range of behavioural and mental health concerns, including anxiety and depression, ADHD, childhood and intergenerational trauma, family conflict, relationship challenges, and other life circumstances that can impact emotional well-being.
I provide in-person, telephone, and virtual counselling services, as well as ADHD assessment services. My approach is individualized and collaborative, recognizing that every person brings their own unique experiences, strengths, needs, and goals to the therapeutic process.
My practice is grounded in compassion, honesty, respect, and empowerment. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and comfortable exploring their experiences.
I believe that therapy is not a linear journey. Growth can involve progress, setbacks, uncertainty, and moments of self-discovery. My role is to walk alongside you through each stage of that process, helping you develop greater self-awareness, resilience, coping skills, and self-compassion while working toward meaningful and lasting change.
Whether you are navigating challenges from your past, managing difficulties in the present, or feeling uncertain about what lies ahead, you do not have to navigate it alone. My goal is to provide you with the support, tools, and confidence needed to move forward and improve your overall quality of life.
I am here to be a supportive guide - not to tell you who you should be, but to help you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and move toward becoming the healthiest and most authentic version of yourself.
I look forward to connecting with you and beginning this journey together.

If your mind feels like a million thoughts are happening at once, and none of them are agreeing with each other, you’re in the right place. Starting therapy can feel overwhelming! However, you don’t have to untangle it all before you arrive—that’s something we’ll do together. I offer a warm, compassionate, down-to-earth approach where you can feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. Therapy with me is collaborative, non-judgmental, and paced in a way that feels comfortable for you. You don’t need to show up with anything prepared, just come as you are, get comfortable, and we’ll take it from there! My work integrates evidence-based approaches such as CBT and DBT, and is always tailored to your needs and goals. I understand that everyone’s experience is different, and therapeutic approaches work best when they are flexible and shaped around each individual, not a one-size-fits-all model. I bring lived experience with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma which allows me to connect with clients in a genuine, grounded, and deeply empathetic way.
